Independent bakery brings Romanian and Eastern European-inspired treats to St Modwen’s Walk
Wolfs Bakery has opened its doors at Coopers Square, moving to larger premises after launching in Burton in March 2026.
Independently owned and managed by Daniel Lupu alongside Madalin Lupu, the bakery has built a following for its traditional pretzels, chimney cakes (Kürtős Kalács) and custom baked treats. Its new home gives customers space to sit, relax and enjoy something fresh from the oven with a brewed coffee.
Visitors can look forward to warm bread, fresh pretzels, the bakery’s Covri-Wolves, jam-filled treats, melted cheese pies and chocolate creations.
Baljit Kooner, Centre Manager at Coopers Square, said:
“It’s wonderful to welcome Wolfs Bakery to Coopers Square. Daniel and Madalin have already built a following in Burton, and we’re delighted they’ve chosen the centre for their next chapter. Their bakery brings something distinctive to St Modwen’s Walk, and I’m sure the smell of fresh pretzels and warm bread will be hard to resist!”
The bakery has already welcomed its first customers to the new café, giving away 50 free pretzels to celebrate its opening.
Its arrival comes ahead of one of Coopers Square’s busiest times of year, with October half-term Halloween activities and the return of the much-loved Santa’s Grotto on the way.
