Coopers Square Shopping Centre has proudly welcomed its newest retailer this weekend, with Optical People officially opening its doors to Burton shoppers. The launch marks the first of two exciting new additions to the centre this month, with jewellery specialists F.Hinds set to open soon.
Optical People celebrated its grand opening on Saturday with an official ribbon-cutting ceremony attended by the Mayor of Burton and the Mayor’s Consort. Visitors enjoyed the chance to explore the brand-new store, which offers expert clinical eye care, professional eye examinations, and a stylish selection of frames.
Karamdeep Dulku, Store Director at Optical People, said:
“We are more than just an opticians — we are your local eye care team, dedicated to honest advice, expert clinical care, and service with heart. We offer an excellent selection of frames and look forward to opening our doors to the community of Burton.”
Meanwhile, F.Hinds, one of the UK’s leading family jewellers with over 160 stores nationwide, will soon be opening at Coopers Square. The new store will offer a wide range of fine jewellery, watches, gifts, and professional services including repairs and valuations.
The retailer openings come as Coopers Square prepares to celebrate the festive season with a host of family-friendly events, including the return of the hugely popular Santa’s Grotto and Crafts with Mrs Claus.
Santa will be welcoming visitors on Saturday 6th, 13th and 20th December, with all proceeds from this year’s grotto being donated to YMCA Burton, who support individuals and families across the community. Coopers Square has proudly supported the charity for the past three years, with a dedicated collection box located in the centre for shoppers wishing to contribute. Last year’s grotto raised over £1,000 for local causes.
Paula Senior, Fundraising & Partnerships Manager at YMCA Burton, said: “
“We are delighted and humbled to be this years chosen Charity for this magical and special Christmas initiative. Our main centre Reconnect is open 24/7, 365 days a year and we impact over 12,000 people every year in our community. We are a lifeline for many. Thank you for supporting us this year so that we can continue to provide help to those who need it during times of crisis.”
Festive celebrations will begin early on Friday 29th November with an exclusive appearance from the Elf on the Shelf, giving families the chance to meet the mischievous character and enjoy photo opportunities before he begins his December adventures.
Baljit Kooner, Centre Manager at Coopers Square, said:
