Christmas kindness at Coopers Square has helped raise vital funds for a local charity.
Throughout the festive period, families visited Santa’s Grotto at the centre, with proceeds and donations supporting YMCA Burton.
Thanks to the incredible generosity of customers, a total of £1,197.20 has now been counted and officially handed over to the charity.
Baljit Kooner, Centre Manager at Coopers Square, said:
“We are incredibly proud of the generosity shown by our customers over the Christmas period. YMCA Burton carries out vital work in our community, supporting vulnerable people and providing safe spaces and opportunities for those who need it most. To be able to hand over £1,197.20 is a testament to the kindness of our shoppers and the strength of our community here at Coopers Square.”
A spokesperson for YMCA Burton upon Trent & District added:
“We are extremely grateful to Coopers Square and everyone who donated over Christmas. Every contribution makes a real difference to the individuals and families we support across Burton. This donation will help us continue providing essential services and creating brighter futures for local people.”
Coopers Square regularly partners with local charities and community groups throughout the year, reinforcing its ongoing commitment to giving back and supporting Burton upon Trent.
On Thursday 19th February, Coopers Square is proud to be collaborating with Imaginarium Creations, who have secured government funding to deliver a series of free weekly activity workshops at the centre.
Designed to support local families and encourage community connection, the sessions will offer creative, engaging activities for children, alongside a dedicated “Swap Shop” where families can exchange toys and clothing for more age-appropriate items – promoting sustainability, affordability and a real sense of community support.
