Have a Barrel O’Fun with the Aztecs, Incas and Mayans this half-term!

Local children from Burton-upon-Trent will travel back in time to the sixteenth century during the upcoming half-term at Coopers Square.

The fourth instalment of the shopping centre’s incredibly popular and free Barrel O’Fun kids’ club returns on Tuesday 28 May, between 10am and 3pm. The latest theme is centred around Aztecs, Incas and Mayans – the three most dominant and advanced civilisations of the Americas during the 1500s.

Those attending will learn all about the rituals and beliefs of these fascinating people and make their own take-home Mayan calendar!

Earlier this year, Barrel O’Fun replaced Snapper Jaxx in a bid to introduce children to learning in a fun, engaging and collaborative manner and once again, there will be a range of different activities, props and goodies on offer during the five-hour session.

More than 200 local children have attended the three events so far, with more than 70 per cent of those being return visitors.

Speaking ahead of the latest event, Coopers Square Centre Manager, David Chadfield, said: “We’re really pleased with how popular Barrel O’Fun has been so far and how well received it has been by local families.

“Particularly during school holidays, we want local children to have something to look forward to. Our Ice Age, Groovy Greeks and Roman Are Coming events were a lot of fun, but also educational. They were amazing events all round and we hope everyone is just as excited as us to see the Aztecs, Incas and Mayans brought to life again!”
