Santa, ice princesses and frosty friends are all coming to Coopers Square this Christmas

Santa Claus is, quite literally, coming to town! The big man himself will be visiting Coopers Square on Saturday 30 November and will be coming back every Saturday after that as the countdown to Christmas ticks down.

Before that, however, Burton’s big light switch on will be held six days earlier on Sunday 24 November and an ice queen and princess will be bring their frosty friends to the shopping centre to spread a sprinkle of festive magic and cheer.

From 12pm until 4pm, they will be asking for your help to build not only the tastiest marshmallow snowman in all the land, but also one that made of plastic cups that will stand the test of winter and beyond.

With the lights glaring, Santa himself will be landing at Coopers Square a week later on Saturday 30 November from 10am and will be sticking around until 5pm to meet little ones, take pictures in the selfie pod, and find out what they are wanting for Christmas this year.

Dave Chadfield, centre manager at Coopers Square, said: “Christmas is a fantastic time of year and we’re thrilled that we have got so much happening at Coopers Square in the build-up to it.

“We’ve got Santa visiting the shopping centre four times before the big day is even here, giving everyone plenty of opportunity to take photos and get their lists to him before Christmas arrives.

“We’re also pleased to be welcoming the ice princesses and their friends to the shopping centre to build snowmen before the big Burton light switch on and, with everything going on, it’s going be a great weekend that is guaranteed to get you in the festive spirit.”
