The festive feeling got into full swing at Coopers Square on Sunday, as more than 40 people won prizes with the centre’s Wishmas Wagon and hundreds enjoyed seasonal activities.
From 11am to 4pm, the Wishmas Wagon was in the centre with a team of elves spreading joy to shoppers with cracking Christmas gifts being won throughout the day. More than 250 took part in scanning codes to win, with one lucky shopper receiving the star prize of £250 to spend in Vision Express.
Sunday was just the start of the festive fun and it rolls on this weekend, with the highly anticipated arrival of the man himself, as Santa will be making his welcome return to the Burton upon Trent shopping centre. From 10am on Saturday 1 December, he’ll be taking up residence in the main square, where he will be listening to children’s Christmas wishes every Saturday until 22 December.
Coopers Square Centre Manager, David Chadfield, said he was delighted with the response to the Wishmas Wagon on Sunday. “The countdown to Christmas officially started at the centre on Sunday and we had a brilliant day,” said David. “It was great to see the reaction of shoppers as they won prizes and our own Christmas elves put plenty of smiles on faces in the centre.
“Everyone at Coopers Square can’t wait for the fun to continue this Saturday with Santa returning. As well as getting to meet him in person and tell him what they want for Christmas, youngsters will get a free goodie bag to take home.”
