Coopers Square is set to get an added dose of sweetness during the Easter holidays, as the centre welcomes its very own chocolate factory to the centre.
From 11am to 4pm on Thursday 5 and Friday 6 April, youngsters and those just young at heart will be able to create their very own chocolate bar – for free! Anyone taking part can embrace their inner crazy scientist by donning a lab coat and goggles and adding all manner of ingredients into the chocolate machine to make their own unique bar of chocolatey goodness.
“This is going to be two fantastic days of chocolate-fuelled fun,” said Coopers Square’s very own mad scientist/Centre Manager, David Chadfield. “We’ve been concocting this event for some time and it’s set to go down a treat, especially with it taking place during the school holidays and so close to Easter.
“The Coopers Square Chocolate Factory will take pride of place in the heart of the centre and we’ll have our two highly-skilled master chocolatiers, Shirley Bassett and her assistant Cocoa, on-hand to help children with their weird and wonderful creations. Throughout the day a number of store managers from our great retailers will also be helping with our special competition – we’ll be giving out a number of prizes each hour for the best chocolate bar, as selected by our hungry judges.
“Our Coopers Square Chocolate Factory is unlike anything we’ve ever done before. Everyone here is extremely excited to see the reactions from the people of Burton and we’re going to have some cracking creations come out of it whilst giving away great prizes.”
As well as making their own chocolate bars, children can create their own wrappers to go with it – providing the complete chocolate making experience. “From choosing the style of chocolate bar to designing their own wrappers youngsters are going to love getting stuck in to this,” said David.
If the sweet treats from the Coopers Square Chocolate Factory weren’t enough, the centre’s charitable partner, The Donna Louise, will be in the Burton shopping destination throughout the day running their chocolate tombola with plenty of prizes to be won by visitors – all whilst donating to an important cause. “It will be great to have The Donna Louise in the centre and I’m sure the team from the charity will get a brilliant response,” added David.
The Coopers Square Chocolate Factory is free to take part in and will be running from 11am until 4pm on Thursday 5 and Friday 6 April.
