Help combat holiday hunger with YMCA Food Bank

 

 

 

 

 

 

 

 

Schools out and unfortunately for some children that means with no free school meals they will experience ‘holiday hunger’. This summer are supporting the Burton YMCA Food Bank and we need your help!

YMCA Food Bank are in desperate need of donations, having seen a 38% increase YOY for emergency food parcels in June alone. To date, for 2019, Burton YMCA Food Bank has given out 1,101 food parcels. In comparison, the total for the whole of 2018 was 1,533. Each parcel provides enough food for three meals for three days and last year Burton YMCA Food Bank helped over 1,980 people in the Burton area.

YMCA Food Bank are in desperate need of donations! Please donate dried, canned or jarred goods such as;

  • Cereal
  • Biscuits
  • Instant rice / noodles / pasta
  • Pasta sauce
  • Tea, coffee and sugar
  • Tinned fruit and vegetables
  • Tinned fish

Donate every Tuesday 23rd July – 27th August, 10am – 3pm

Our donation bin will be situated next to our Barrel O’ Fun kids’ club in the centre square – bring what’s left in your cupboard or pick up an extra item in One Below or B&M.
